India Foils Pakistan’s Drone, Missile Attacks on Military Bases

NEW DELHI, May 8, 2025: On Thursday night, India successfully countered Pakistan’s aggressive attempts to strike critical military sites, including bases in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur, using drones and missiles, according to the Indian Ministry of Defence.

Indian armed forces efficiently neutralized the incoming threats, ensuring no damage or casualties occurred, officials confirmed. The ministry emphasized India’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and protecting its citizens.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence reported that Pakistani drones and missiles targeted military installations along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. “Our forces promptly neutralized the threats using advanced kinetic and non-kinetic measures, adhering to established protocols,” the spokesperson stated.

Later that day, India conducted retaliatory strikes, targeting Pakistani air defense systems at multiple locations in response to attacks on 15 Indian military sites. Sources within the defense sector revealed that India’s S-400 missile defense systems, surface-to-air missiles, and integrated counter-drone technology played a pivotal role in repelling the assaults.

In a decisive counterstrike, Indian kamikaze drones destroyed a Pakistani air defense system in Lahore. The ministry disclosed that Pakistan had attempted to hit strategic locations, including Awantipura, Srinagar, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Bhuj, among others.

India’s armed forces also neutralized Pakistani air defense radars and systems across several sites, following Pakistan’s failed attacks. This incident comes on the heels of India’s Operation Sindoor, which involved missile strikes on nine terrorist targets in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan on Wednesday.
