Deloitte Tax Prajna Launch on December 9: India’s First AI-Powered Tax Research Platform Set to Change the Game

Big Four firm Deloitte is all set to launch its much-awaited artificial intelligence-based tax platform “Tax Prajna” this week. The platform, named Deloitte Tax Prajna, promises to make tax research faster, sharper and far more accurate for businesses and professionals across the country.

Sources inside the company confirm that the official launch will take place on 9 December. Deloitte India Partner Sumit Singhania, who is leading the project, told media that the new tool will not replace tax consultants but will act as a super-charged assistant that delivers answers in minutes instead of hours.

What Exactly is Deloitte Tax Prajna?

At its core, Deloitte Tax Prajna is a subscription-based B2B platform built exclusively on Deloitte’s private database. It contains more than 10 lakh direct and indirect tax-related court judgments, plus two decades of the firm’s own research papers, client advisories and internal knowledge material.

Unlike public search engines or open-source tools, every answer that Tax Prajna gives comes only from this verified, curated database. This ensures higher accuracy and removes the risk of outdated or unreliable information.

How Will It Change Daily Tax Work?

Right now, when a client receives a tax notice or has a complex query, analysts spend hours—sometimes days—digging through old judgments and cross-referencing multiple sources. With Deloitte Tax Prajna, the same research can be completed in a few minutes.

The platform will also track Budget announcements in near real-time and push updates on Income Tax law changes well before they become effective from 1 April every year.

Future Roadmap: From Research to Predictive Insights

Sumit Singhania shared an ambitious 12–18 month vision:

  • The platform should be able to draft basic legal or tax opinions on its own.
  • It will provide predictive analysis on tax notices—whether a taxpayer should fight the case or settle.
  • It will eventually become smart enough to suggest the best litigation strategy.

Rollout Plan Across India

The launch will happen in phases:

  • Phase 1 (immediate): Available to 500 existing Deloitte clients.
  • Phase 2 (January 2026): Rolled out to all 5,000 current clients.
  • Phase 3 (June 2026): Opened for subscription to MSMEs, SMEs and other businesses nationwide.

Once fully open, any company—big or small—will be able to subscribe to Deloitte Tax Prajna and get the same level of research power that Deloitte’s own teams use.

Why This Launch Matters for Indian Businesses

With increasing tax litigation and constant law changes, Indian companies spend crores every year on research and compliance. A home-grown, Deloitte-backed platform like Tax Prajna can significantly bring down both time and cost while improving the quality of decisions.

Stay tuned—more details will come out at the official launch event on 9 December. If your business deals with direct or indirect taxes, this is one tool you will definitely want to watch closely.
